Biography
I currently work as a Lead Data Scientist and Strategy Managing Consultant for IBM, in Amsterdam. As an experienced Data Scientist, I help companies to design and further develop new data-driven solutions. As a Strategy Consultant, I focus on understanding and shaping their data strategy.
Prior to joining IBM, I worked as a Sr. Data Scientist for Mobiquity and as a Data Analyst for Easytobook.com, where I was involved in the exploration, building, and validation of various numerical models as well as client-facing consulting work for a number of clients. Earlier, I obtained both my BSc (with honors) and MSc in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of São Paulo, to then obtain a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at Wageningen University.
Experience
Lead Data Scientist / Senior Managing Consultant
IBM
As an experienced Data Scientist, I help companies to design and further develop new data-driven solutions. As a Strategy Consultant, I focus on understanding and shaping their data strategy.
Senior Data Scientist
Mobiquity Inc
I collect, mine, and manage big data at Mobiquity. As a Data Scientist, I use cutting-edge analytical techniques to design innovative data-driven business solutions. I also love to work on behavior analytics. I analyze short- and long-term behavior patterns to tailor interventions based on an individual’s preferences and needs. Besides that, I enjoy being part of a team while still having the freedom to develop my own ideas. Other activities such as mentoring students are also a part of my day at Mobiquity.
Data Analyst
Easytobook.com
I managed the modelling, development, and optimization of data mining algorithms for several travel communities, such as TripAdvisor, Trivago, and Google Price Ads. As a data analyst at Easytobook.com, I built a bidding strategy focused on augmenting marketing revenue while increasing market share. I was responsible for generating, on average, €300k in revenue per month.
PhD Researcher
Wageningen University
My PhD work focused on understanding and quantifying the role of aerosols in the convective boundary-layer dynamics and the further impact on air quality. Specifically, I addressed the coupling between aerosols, radiation and the land-atmosphere system under a large-eddy simulation framework.
